 Planning a themed birthday party can be a lot of fun, especially when it is as memorable of a birthday as your sweet sixteen.  A fun theme to go with is a Masquerade themed birthday party.  This is a chance for all of your guests to get dressed up in gorgeous gowns and tuxes and plan for a fun evening.  When you send out your invitations, you can include a plain mask that your party guests can decorate themselves.  This is an opportunity for your guests to be creative and use their imagination.  They can coordinate with the outfits that they are wearing.  A rule that you could set would be that your guests are not allowed to remove their masks at all during the evening.  That will add to the fun and give your party a bit of a “mystery” element to it.

 Your cake for your birthday party can be in the shape of a large mask.  It would be colored gold and black, or really any color that you desire.  It could even be designed to be a replica of the mask that you will be wearing to tie into the fact that you are the guest of honor.

If your budget allows, try hiring some entertainers for your birthday party.  Have them dress up like court jesters and renaissance performers.  They could go around your party juggling, riding a unicycle or mingling with the crowd.  A memorable party is right around the corner.  Be creative and imaginative and you can come up with a million ideas!
