I was one of those people who said that this new GPS was tantamount to an invasion of your personal privacy. and I would never have one fitted in my car. In a lot of ways it really bothered me that all these satellites were circuiting the Earth, just watching me. Then one night I was watching the news and I saw the report of two teenage girls, driving their parent's car that has spun off the road and into a ditch. They would have lain their for days if it hadn't been for their GPS system that allowed accurate tracking of their car, and they were rescued bruised and shaken but otherwise unhurt in less than an hour. I thought of my teenaged daughters and how easily they could find themselves in such a situation, and how through my stupidity and selfishness they could suffer for hours if not days. I went out immediately to my local accessory store and had a GPS system fitted to my car. You can't fight technology.
