NetIntellect is a suitable visitor registration software solution if you are looking for an inexpensive way to gather general data about your visitor counter script and if flexible, detailed reports are not a primary concern. It does offer solid analysis but does not achieve the reporting capabilities of either of its competitors. NetIntellect did not show us, for example, which keyword searches were most often used to find our site, nor did it break down visits by state. Both competing solutions offered this level of detail. Further, NetIntellect's reports were not as professional-looking as were WebTrends', and its data-filtering options were not as extensive as either of its competitors. Also, users could only view reports via a Web browser. It did beat the other solutions when it came to processing our 80MB log file, but only after we applied the Windows 95 WinSock patch. The best bet here would be to look at Version 4.0, scheduled to ship next month, which company officials claim will offer more flexible reporting and a completely redesigned interface. Pros (1) Fast performance (2) Affordable Cons (1) Limited reporting options (2) Limited data filtering (3) Less detailed analysis (4) No remote report creation (5) Must manually enter advertisements to be tracked
