Academic discount on a Wacom graphics tablet
Now that I’m taking graphics design classes again, with my student ID I’ve been getting all sorts of freebies and cheap rates on stuff. It’s great because for electronics, shows, art supplies and food that I would already be buying anyway I get to save some extra cash. Granted, I’ve been buying more books and materials for classes and can’t work as many hours at my job, but I was going to do that anyway too. It’s a great feeling being back at school too. Getting to sit outside in the middle of the day sipping my latte (yeah, I’m one of them) and interacting with young interesting people is just my cup of tea… or, well, coffee.
One thing that I decided to get was a graphics tablet to assist with my graphic design. I decided on getting a Wacom pretty early, but couldn’t decide between models. I ended up going for the academic discount on the Bamboo tablet over the Intuos4 or the Cintiq. It’s more affordable and I don’t need any of the advanced features that the other integrated ergonomic graphics tablets have. Now that I have my second cup of joe for the day, I’m going to try this puppy out and mock up some hypothetical product designs for one of my classes.
