Use of tele-computing in online computer training courses is opening up new worlds of opportunities for students, teachers, and institutions alike at all levels. While as recently as the mid 1980s these programs were largely experimental, in the 90s some already have a proven track record and are moving into the mainstream.Thousands of secondary and even primary classrooms participate in special online projects sponsored by widely differing organizations as National Geographic, X*Press Information, US Videotel, and the National Science Foundation. Accredited colleges and universities offer online computer training courses that may now be earned entirely or almost entirely online.
