In fact, the United States probably has the most developed market for timeshares, with a sizable minority of the population owning some sort of timeshare and the number of people owning them fast growing. Dial an Exchange, Hawaii Timeshare Exchange, Platinum Interchange, Trading Places, Timex, The San Francisco Exchange and Redweek.com are the main independent competitors to the two major timeshare distributors. These independent distributors are often easier to deal with than the larger two networks.
