Some of the pluses in choosing community colleges include low tuition open admissions, and convenient locations and scheduling.  No one at a community college “sticks out like a sore thumb” because there is a wide scope of ethnic groups, age groups, economic background and cultures represented at community colleges.  These colleges are aimed toward local students and their individual needs. Some community colleges offer courses that can be used as a credit in both high school and college.
