Identifying Marital Abuse
When we see the words domestic abuse we instantly think of a man punching his wife. That maybe true but not entirely, marriage abuse covers violence by either partner no matter the gender and doesn’t just cover physical abuse. It also includes verbal, emotional and sexual abuse too. It covers all areas of society, cultures and nationalities too. The aim of all marital abuse is the punishment, control or domination of one partner over another and abusive individuals will use threats all and any type of abuse. It is the effect this abuse has on the victim rather than anything else which characterizes marital abuse.
